For almost a year, Courtney Love talked to The Fix about the cost of fame and her daily struggle with sobriety. Her candid confessions and a host of surprising new revelations are captured in The Fix’s first e-book, Courtney Comes Clean.

Maer Roshan first met Courtney Love on an unseasonably balmy New York evening in September 2010, a night before she was scheduled to headline an annual event to celebrate sobriety.

Roshan, the editor and founder of The Fix, arrived at SoHo’s tony Mercer Hotel armed with a note-pad and a tape recorder. He discovered Courtney slouched in a banquette, nursing a bottle of Stella Artois. Though their meeting was initially scheduled to last just 30 minutes, they went on speaking for close to a year. Courtney Love Wins Lawsuit Against Landlord | TMZ:

Courtney Love will NOT be evicted from her luxury Manhattan townhouse — TMZ has learned, a judge just tossed out the landlord’s case, because it turns out Courtney did exactly what a good tenant is supposed to do — pay her rent.

Courtney’s landlord filed the eviction lawsuit, claiming she owed $54,000 for 2 months of back rent. But the judge just ruled the landlord was way off base. Turns out the landlord and Courtney had made an agreement after the lease was signed that altered the payment schedule. Courtney was paying according to the new deal, but the landlord was trying to enforce the original one.

So bottom line … Courtney gets to stay.

P.S. The landlord said originally that in addition to owing rent, Courtney accidentally set the joint on fire. The judge didn’t address the whole fire thing.

I know the Hollywood rules: Never spill beans, ever. Mouth-zip. Get to the point. No drugs. Stay humble. Stay tuned in.

On the music front, we finally found a female bassist who is awesome, can’t wait for you to see. My new band starts in earnest later this year, but that’s all I can say about that for now.

While we wait for the music stuff to become official I am banging out this memoir. The working title is And She’s Not Even Pretty. It’s a little negative, but I love it. I used to not be pretty, and now I finally feel like all of me— not the totally self-conscious, non-pretty me that I’m known for in the public eye.

My friend Peter Brandt found an old Interview magazine from when Andy [Warhol] “discovered” me about six weeks before he died. He did a double page spread in that issue and Peter sent it to me. He put me on his show and Debbie Harry introduced me as “our flamboyant new superstar discovery.”

I just keep thinking about Andy Warhol’s “15 minutes” — that was 34 YEARS AGO! God! By the way, I thought I was so homely, I couldn’t watch it.

I’m starting films again! All I can say is thank you, Ronnie Meyer for your priceless mitzvah and Brian Lourd for your priceless advice. The next step will be to meet my agent. This time, no agent hopping, no listening to upper class boyfriends trying to tame me into “Mrs. Senator Wasp.” I can’t call someone my agent until we’ve shaken hands. All these endless, “You were so great in Larry Flynt” leave me cold. I’ll talk about why I “resigned” from film in 2001 some other time. […]

Who knew Courtney Love owns (and loves) a Nicole Richie dress? We did, after taking a tour of her closet with good friend and Hole drummer Scott Lipps. The owner of modeling agency One Management, who also has an it-girl centric photography website PopLipps, stars on E’s “Scouted” and is our newest blogger, chats with a Meadham Kirchhoff-clad Love in the video above.

The two discussed her new clothing line, Never The Bride, which was designed with Pippa Greenbank in London. Love’s collection is made out of re-purposed pieces (“This is antique, vintage means lurex” she explained of the offering) and rooted in her love of Edwardian dresses and materials. Although Greenbank does much of the draping and sewing, each piece has Love’s signature: “In the hem of all the dresses there’s a ruby and it says c***.” Some have more unique touches, however, “I took one of Kurt’s robes and I cut it up into little bits and embroidered on it. On the Kurt robe dress I put ‘tell me it doesn’t hurt, tell me it doesn’t hurt.’ Which is I think what people say during sex.” […]

She and Ms. Schnabel, 30 and a 2008 Cooper Union graduate, talked about many things, including the 66 pounds of plaster Ms. Schnabel was carrying in Venice, Italy (for a bust of Naomi Campbell), when they met several years ago.

“Lola’s her own woman, but we understand each other,” Ms. Love said.
